Heating and Cooling Packet for the Unit
Extra Credit which will be due 1/31. Students are to build an insulated container to hold an ice cube. We must be able to open it and see the ice cube and we will track how long it takes to melt at room temperature. They should build and test it at home and then they will bring it to school for the "contest".
Red: Students have a CEI writing assignment from today's experiement due Monday. This should be in paragraph form and more than likely will be 3-4 paragraphs.
If you want to write down the experiment first and describe all that happened throughout the activity first, that is fine too. It may help you find out the CEI information. What was your hypothesis in claim, what evidence proved or disproved the claim and last what is the understanding or interpretation you have of the activity.
Paragraph 1 can be an explanation of the lab
Paragraph 2 can be the claim including the hypothesis
Paragraph 3 will be the evidence including information they recorded in their charts
Paragraph 4 will be their interpretation (WHY did it happen , what could have gone wrong).
Page 9 in the lab book will help!
